BT Global Services (Germany)
BT Global Services (Germany)Using ECT´s turnkey solution, BT Global Services is offering enhanced value-added services in the German fixed-line telephone network. Furthermore, BT Global Services is also examining the viability of extending the new product offering based on ECT technology to all of the European countries in which it operates.

For over two years, BT has been deploying AutoCarrier® Softswitches and the effECTive® Service Number Suite for the realisation of intelligent service numbers. In a tender for value-added services, BT Global Services (formerly BT Ignite), the international fixed-line and solutions branch of British Telecommunications plc, awarded the contract to the European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT), a manufacturer of next-generation software-based switching systems for carriers and telecoms service providers. In getting the nod, the ECT Group prevailed over major manufacturers and technology providers, adding yet another first-tier carrier to its customer base. Using the ECT Group’s turnkey solution, BT Global Services offers enhanced value-added services in the German fixed-line telephone network. In a further project currently under discussion, the enhanced value-added services could soon also be offered in several European countries under the auspices of BT Global Services Germany. BT Global Services opted for ECT Group’s AutoCarrier® softswitch as the platform for its intelligent value-added services following a competitive bidding process that included tenders from major manufacturers of switching platforms for value-added services. The contract awarded also includes the development of a tailored software solution for new BT Global Services products. The ECT Group’s project and product management team is responsible for the entire implementation process. In addition, BT Global Services is examining the viability of extending its new ECT-based product offering to all European countries in which it operates.
