After
successful implementations of its Ring
Back Tone Application for mobile carriers
across Europe, the European Computer
Telecoms Group (ECT) was recently awarded
the contract for TeliaSonera Finland’s new
service, Sonera
Theme Music (Tunnari),
in a competitive bidding process.
The ECT Group, Europe’s market
leader for intelligent value-added
services, provided in the spring
of 2005 the complete solution for
the new service, which includes customised
user and network interfaces. The
new service allows Sonera’s
mobile customers in Finland to replace
the traditional ring back tone – the
sound heard by the caller – with
a personalised sound file.
With the ECT Ring Back Tone Application,
mobile customers can choose various
songs, jokes, or other sounds played
to the person who calls them, while
they also hear the familiar ring
back tone. The service works regardless
of who calls. All Sonera mobile phone
customers can use the service. The
new service including a complete
demonstration of the web interface
can be seen at www.soneraplaza.fi/mobiili/kuvataanet .
The Sonera Theme
Music Service – or
Tunnari in Finnish – is being
offered at a monthly fee of EUR 1.90,
with each ring back tone priced at
EUR 1.95. The service comprises nearly
50 tunes of different types. All
tunes acquired are automatically
saved in a tone library from where
they can be easily retrieved and
used again. Mobile customers can
set up to 20 caller groups, and every
group may have a maximum of 30 fixed-line
or mobile phone customers. Via the
service’s web site, subscribers
can also buy music and create and
edit caller groups. Furthermore,
they can send toll-free text messages
to inform the people in their caller
groups that a special ring back
tone has been selected for them.
