IT, Telecoms and Presales Support Engineer
Are you the person who knows his way around Linux servers and inside computer and telecom networks? Would you like to make sure that high availability and high-visibility services are running without issues and maintain them on a regular basis?
Are you a technical leader in sales and presales as well, serving as a liaison with sales representatives, project management and deployment specialists as well as our product owners? Would you like to define the technology approach and solution to address requirements and tenders from CSPs, elaborating the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of our telecoms low code?
Then we need you to be a part of our Sales & Support team in Frisco, Texas, USA.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to telecom operators worldwide that work with ECT Technology especially in the Americas.
- Regular contact with our customers to proactively advise on improvements and discuss the recent issues. We work on a basis of personal contact to customers. You will be a single point of contact (SPOC) to some of your assigned customers.
- Join a 24/7/365 out-of-hours hotline support on a rotational basis (about 6 times a year).
- Participate in our interdisciplinary agile sales and marketing squads which continuously elaborate and execute sales strategies collaboratively.
- Analyze state of client’s current infrastructure and identify potential opportunities.
- Prepare and hold individualized presentations and product demonstrations both at client’s premises as well as remotely.
- Answer tenders and elaborate solution architecture.
- Follow-up actively client projects and inquiries.
- Conduct internal and external trainings on our products and projects.
- Regular reporting to the ECT Headquarters Management in Munich, Germany.
Key Skills and Experience
Mandatory:
- Linux RedHat/ CentOS administration.
- Understanding IP networking.
- Experience with working in a small team.
- Team Player.
- On-site support (Occasionally in case of HW support needed).
- Excellent soft skills (phone and personal).
- Bi-Lingual: Spanish is a must. Additionally English, as English is our corporate company language.
- Min. 5 years of experience either at a vendor of telecoms solutions and/or networks or at a communications service provider.
- Comprehensive knowledge of telecoms core networks IMS, VoLTE, 5G, etc.
- Experience in working with agile methodology. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus, but not mandatory.
- Working knowledge of network function virtualization, automated lifecycle management and CI/CD.
- Basic understanding of low code development.
- Willingness to travel internationally representing ECT.
Big plus:
- Telecom experience (Knowledge of the protocols: SIP, RTP).
- Understanding SIP RFCs.
- Web Server Technologies Know-How.
- Oracle DB knowledge.
- Mobility across the Americas.
- Shell Scripting.
- Portuguese.
